Modern crossovers don't have the do-anything or go-anywhere spirit of old SUVs, but some can still handle off-road adventures when putting to test.

Having said that -The 2020 Jeep Compass is a competitively priced small crossover that would never disappoint you when appropriately tackled.

Much of its off-road skill comes from the Trailhawk model. Not only is all-wheel drive - (AWD) common in the Trailhawk, it also adds up a lifted suspension, sturdy tyres, advanced traction control mechanism, and to protect from vital components, there are underbody skid plates.

These updates, along with hill descent control, a first-gear hold feature, and a lockable center differential, makes the 2020 Jeep Compass more versatile than many of its competitors.

2020 Jeep Compass Trims Overview

The 2020 Jeep Compass is- A subcompact crossover presented in four trim levels:

·         2020 Jeep Compass Sport
·         2020 Jeep Compass Latitude
·         2020 Jeep Compass Trailhawk 
·         2020 Jeep Compass Limited

There are also Altitude and High Altitude variants of the Limited and Latitude respectively, that add distinct exterior touch-ups and a few extra attributes.

All comes with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine, 180 horsepower, which delivers 175 lb-ft of torque for better performance. 

Front-wheel drive- FWD is common and all-wheel drive- AWD is voluntary on all Compasses except the Trailhawk, which comes regular with AWD, also known as all-wheel drive.

A six-speed manual transmission comes on the Latitude and Sport trims.

But most Compasses you will see will have either a six-speed for front-wheel-drive models trims or a nine-speed automatic -AWD models alone.

To begin with, let's start with the Sport trim. Common equipment includes automatic dual-zone climate control, a 60/40-split rear bench, height-adjustable front seats, heated mirrors, a six-speaker sound system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality and a 7-inch touchscreen, first- and second-row USB ports.

In comparison, compared to the Sport, the Compass Latitude has roof rails, alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, keyless ignition and entry, upgraded cloth and simulated leather seat upholstery, satellite radio and more option packages.

The Compass Limited is the most distinctly fitted.

Standout attributes include; an 8.4-inch touchscreen, a color information display, keyless ignition and entry, a power driver's seat, heated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 115-volt household-style power outlet, and leather upholstery. 

The AWD, only Trailhawk, is based on the Latitude but adds up a few of the Limited's updates, including- The big touchscreen, off-road-oriented tires, a raised suspension, and a Selec-Terrain system to assist the Compass crawl up steep ascents and over rocky surfaces and coarse paths. 

Many of the elements in upper trim levels are available on other trims with packages in options. Other noteworthy packages include the Security Group and Advanced Safety Group, both of which add up advanced driver safety assists.

Other popular alternatives include depending on the trim level and a navigation system, a sunroof, a premium nine-speaker Alpine audio system, a power liftgate, and xenon headlights.

Connectivity And Infotainment

Jeep's Uconnect system is one of the favorite infotainment setups in the segment, and jeep lovers will be delighted to see it included as conventional across the Compass lineup.
